Dublin was a fast-paced city and the capital of the Republic of Ireland. On the first of March of 2007, Riley and Michelle flew from England to Ireland for the price of a pound each way (plus taxes of course). It was worth it! After checking into their hotel, they headed for the city center and spent the afternoon exploring the vibrant city. It felt nearly like London with the swarms of people going their every which way. There were many cool buildings to take pictures of, and far too many for one blog. One of the most eye-catching places in Dublin was the Dublin Castle, shown in the picture. Here, Riley decided to propose yet again, using an Irish accent of course.
One way to modernize a castle is to paint is some bright primary colors. The Dublin Castle did just that and it looked quite cool and really stood out. Inside the castle was also beautiful but Michelle and Riley did not have time to take the tour. There was just too much to see in Dublin in one day. We walked around the huge castle and too pictures along the way. There was a beautiful garden to one side of the castle where we relaxed for a few minutes gazing upon the site.
In the picture is a nice view of some of the vibrant colors that the castle was painted. One side looked original and the other was painted fancy colors. It definitely made this castle stand out among the others.
Just to one side of the ‘big and spacious’ St. Patrick’s Cathedral lies a beautiful park filled with green grass, flowers, and well-cut trees. We roamed the park while trying to get a good picture of the cathedral. Riley found a good spot just near the flowerbed. No flowers were trampled while taking this picture.
Here Riley and Michelle are standing before the giant St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It had a very distinctive look to it, and was very different from the English church. Maybe, one reason is because it was of a different religion. None-the-less is was quite magnificent. The doors were not opened to the church that day, so we did not get to peek inside,…only imagine it. The weather cleared up very nicely in Dublin when we went exploring around the city that day. We saw many other attractions and were well worn out by the end of the day.

The next best thing to going to Europe is to see pictures with someone who means something to me in the picture. By the way, does your camera have a timer so that the two of you can be in the picture together?
Love,
Mom
