Stonehenge is one of the Great Wonders of the World. (CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE) We made a special trip in late April to see it. There are many theories behind Stonehenge that include assistance from Extra Terrestrials or magic, but the mystery remains just how these stones were set up thousands of years ago. The probable theory is Neolithic man using some unknown engineering technique to set up the stones. Each stone weighs several tons! This arrangement of stones is older than the great pyramids of Egypt.

Here is Michelle carefully listening to our audio guide of Stonehenge. Stonehenge is located right in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere. It is located about 10 miles from Salisbury next to a road. The stones are quite impressive. Some of them are like gigantic dominoes.

The most amazing thing about Stonehenge is that it was first created thousands of years B.C. It has withstood nature for a long, long time. It was also interesting to see how the stones were cut and moved there. You can also imagine about 100 men lugging these stones to this site.

What! A footstone? This footstone was an addition to Stonehenge on the day we arrived. Actually its one of Michelle’s pretty feet. We tried for several minutes to take a picture that would look like a big toe or foot was part of Stonehenge. It was harder than it looks to get your foot in the picture.

We walked around Stonehenge taking pictures from nearly every angle. There wasn’t much else to do there. A bus took people there from Salisbury every hour and would pick up people also. Michelle and I just missed our bus by a few seconds from Stonehenge so we spent another hour walking around waiting till the next bus arrived. Fortunately, the day was beautiful and the air was fresh so the extra hour we had at Stonehenge was nice.

Wow that is some mighty sexy toe action in that picture. Riley, I never knew your toes were so cute :)
Those stones are a mystery! How did they get there, and how did they last so long in that position?
